These partnerships provide a framework for the parties to harness each other’s expertise and knowledge, and to create shared initiatives that strategically support the development and growth of the FinTech ecosystem in ADGM, Abu Dhabi, and beyond.

Australian Securities and Investments Commission
ADGM and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission will further advance developments and initiatives that nurture Fintech entrepreneurship and support innovation in financial services in Abu Dhabi and Australia. The Agreement establishes a strategic framework for both regulators to share relevant information on innovation, provide support through the application and authorisation process, as well as, to refer cross-border activities that benefit and add to the growth of the financial and FinTech industries in the UAE and Australia.
ADGM is pleased to be a member partner of the industry working group (the Market Infrastructure Group) established by Equichain, a London-based FinTech company. This Group, comprising global industry & financial leaders, will jointly discuss and further the development and application of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and related solutions that will drive market efficiency and enhance risk management in the capital markets.
Flat 6 Labs
ADGM’s FSRA signed an MoU with Flat6Labs UAE on 25 May 2016 focused technology development and innovation in financial services to develop the FinTech eco-system in Abu Dhabi. The partnership provides a framework for FSRA and Flat6Labs to harness each other’s expertise and knowledge to build and introduce initiatives that strategically support the development and growth of the FinTech ecosystem in ADGM, Abu Dhabi and beyond.
ADGM’s FSRA formed a partnership with GlassQube Business Centre Services (GQC) to further enhance the FinTech eco-system in Abu Dhabi. This agreement provides a framework for collaboration, co-operation and consultation between the FSRA and GQC focusing on technology development and innovation in financial services. It enables both parties to share knowledge, exchange expertise and join efforts on initiatives that will support the development of the FinTech ecosystem in Abu Dhabi and the wider region.
Gujarat International Finance Tec-City Special Economic Zone
ADGM and Gujarat International Finance Tec-City Special Economic Zone signed an MoU on 17th of February, providing a framework for the exchange of views and expertise in the fields of banking, financial services and securities regulation of each jurisdiction. It also enables both organisations to explore joint activities and training initiatives that will develop human capital capabilities and foster greater growth in both financial markets.
ADGM and KPMG have come together to launch the first ever FinTech Abu Dhabi Innovation Challenge on 22 October 2017 in Abu Dhabi to enable start-ups to access industry-leading solutions that may help entities address emerging business challenges in the financial services industry. The Innovation Challenge, as part of the inaugural FinTech Abu Dhabi event on 22 and 23 October 2017, includes an intensive five week program, which will allow innovative and mature start-ups to conceptualise and present market-ready solutions that can address real business challenges identified in the financial services industry in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region.
Let’s Talk Payments
ADGM and Let’s Talk Payments have formed an alliance to enhance the FinTech ecosystem, and the growth and deployment of innovation in the MEA region, by opening the network and connectivity among the local, regional and international FinTech communities. LTP is one of the pioneers and largest players in FinTech innovation and over the last 4 years, has been tracking 45+ FinTech segments. Some of the largest conferences in the world partner with LTP for its deep domain expertise, rich content, thought leadership and support for the innovation ecosystem.
Monetary Authority of Singapore
The Monetary Authority of Singapore and ADGM signed a Cooperation Agreement to foster closer cooperation on developments that nurture FinTech entrepreneurship and support innovation in financial services in both Singapore and Abu Dhabi. The CA establishes a strategic framework for both regulators to assist start-ups and innovators to better understand the regulatory regime in each jurisdiction and provide support through the application and authorisation process. Both Authorities will also undertake and explore joint innovation projects on the application of key technologies including digital and mobile payments, blockchain and distributed ledgers, big data, flexible platforms (API), and other new technologies.
NYU Abu Dhabi
ADGM’s FSRA and New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) signed an MoU on 6th June 2016 to develop the FinTech eco-system in Abu Dhabi. The new partnership provides a framework for FSRA and NYUAD to harness each other’s expertise and knowledge to build and introduce shared initiatives that strategically support the development and growth of the FinTech ecosystem in ADGM, Abu Dhabi and beyond.
ADGM’s FSRA and Paris EUROPLACE, the organisation in charge of developing the Paris financial marketplace, signed an MoU to enable closer collaboration on possible joint financial activities and common interests that support the growth and development in both financial ecosystems in France and Abu Dhabi. The MoU establishes a strategic platform to better understand and share pertinent information on banking, financial services, securities legislation and regulations in each market and will explore mutually beneficial projects and discussions to facilitate long term investment opportunities, infrastructure financing, new innovations in areas of Fintech and green finance.
ADGM is pleased to partner with PwC to launch the inaugural FinTech Abu Dhabi Summit in October 2017. The FinTech Abu Dhabi series of events is an extension of ADGM’s commitment to bring together local and global financial institutions, FinTech start-ups and participants, investors, regulatory agencies and the business community to network, collaborate and exchange expertise and knowledge in FinTech developments in Abu Dhabi, the wider MENA region and internationally.
ADGM’s FSRA and the Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone (Qianhai Authority) entered into a new partnership to further develop and promote closer investment and financial innovation opportunities and collaborations for enterprises in Qianhai, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi. This will allow both parties to explore efforts and initiatives to facilitate greater investment cooperation and opportunities, as well as, to strengthen the financial and FinTech ecosystems in both markets to address the evolving local and international business needs. Both Authorities will leverage each other’s expertise and forte to establish a conducive investment platform that attracts and supports businesses and enterprises of Qianhai, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi in realising their investment and growth plans in their respective markets and globally.
ADGM and the Responsible Finance & Investment Foundation (RFI) are pleased to enter into a partnership to bolster the growth and sustainability of the FinTech ecosystem through financial inclusion and ethical and responsible finance practices. ADGM and RFI will work closely to enable and assist investors, FinTech entrepreneurs and innovation firms in testing and introducing innovative products, services and solutions within a well-structured and conducive environment under the ADGM Reglab programme, in addition to highlighting emerging FinTech trends and supporting the development of innovative Shari’ah compliant FinTech companies seeking to participate in the Middle East and African markets.
Swiss Finance + Technology Association
ADGM and the Swiss Finance + Technology Association (SFTA) have formed a new alliance to strengthen each other’s FinTech ecosystem and foster mutually-beneficial opportunities that support the growth and deployment of innovations in both markets. This collaboration will provide the impetus to connect Swiss and UAE FinTech participants to business opportunities, experience and investments in each other’s region, accelerate the exchange of FinTech expertise, and anchor FinTech activities in ADGM, Abu Dhabi, and Switzerland.
ADGM signed an MoU with TechPreneur Africa, a social impact firm focused on harnessing innovation and entrepreneurship to achieve real economic impact across Africa, on the 9th June 2017. This partnership will strengthen the connections between FinTech communities, and harness synergies in innovations and capabilities through global collaboration, opening up new avenues for FinTech firms in the Middle East and Africa looking to expand into each other’s markets.
ADGM continues to develop the regional FinTech ecosystem by bringing in and supporting initiatives such as the Temenos Innovation Jam event series; which took place in Abu Dhabi at ADGM in March of 2017. At this event, they welcomed one of the most influential Fintech Gurus and international speaker, Mr Sam Maule who shed light on the latest Fintech trends. In 2016, Temenos hosted an impressive lineup of 58 FinTech companies, from over 17 countries around the world, in what it called the Temenos Innovation Jam event series.
The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) Kenya
ADGM and the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) Kenya signed a Cooperation Agreement which provides a framework for cooperation to support financial innovation in each jurisdiction. The Agreement expands both ADGM and CMA’s FinTech cooperation network to growth markets with enormous potentials. It provides a framework for information sharing between the two Authorities to assist each other in keeping abreast of regulatory and relevant economic or commercial developments in the respective markets. Both Authorities are also looking forward to render support to innovative FinTech businesses in better understanding the regulatory regimes in each of their jurisdictions.
ADGM and UAE Exchange, the leading global remittance, foreign exchange and payment solutions brand, entered into partnership on 12 August 2017, to support, develop and promote the FinTech ecosystem in Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates. The partnership will see UAE Exchange collaborate with FinTech participants under ADGM’s Regulatory Laboratory (RegLab) to develop and deploy promising FinTech solutions in the remittance, foreign exchange and payments space.
